This is incredibly expressive, terroir driven wine and about as "old school" as it gets. Ethereal nose with Nebbiolo fruit, tobacco, earth, leather, etc. The palate is fairly full bodied for Alto Piemonte, but still very lively and vibrant. Immediately recognizable as Piemontese Nebbiolo (even Barbaresco ish) but with a different kind of complexity and soil expression than you get from the Langhe.
