In front of the hospital and to the right is the first St. Mary's Church at the north end of Front Street. This church was demolished in 1923. Many of the furnishings were moved to the present location of St. Mary's Church, King Street and Fifth Avenue. St. Mary's Hospital was destroyed by fire on January 12, 1950. Same as 1990. 78. 4. 9.
